MetaJournal: Spirituality and the New Metaphysical Christian

The emerging field of metaphysical Christianity is an exciting way to explore the spiritual side of life. It combines traditional Christian teachings with metaphysical concepts, such as the power of thought, the law of attraction, and the power of intention. This new approach to Christianity emphasizes personal spiritual growth and understanding of the divine. It encourages us to become more self-aware and to take responsibility for our own lives, rather than relying on outside forces and authorities. It also encourages us to draw from the ancient wisdom of the Bible, as well as from other spiritual traditions. With this new perspective, we can gain insight into our own spiritual journeys and find ways to live a more meaningful and fulfilling life.

The ideal of the Metaphysical Christian is not new.  In fact, if you go back centuries to when Christ walked the Earth, what he taught was actually metaphysics.  Reading the bible metaphorically, we learn that everything Jesus taught actually went beyond what the human mind could possibly comprehend because it was a “new age” thought in that time period.  The people that were hanging out with Jesus [his disciples and other followers], wanted to learn more about how or where he was getting his information.

Other thought leaders that have come through this lifetime are that of Sigmund Freud, Plato, Socrates, etc.  We must be vigilant to think “outside the box” in order to understand the ways of the universe.  Within the practice of Metaphysical Christianity, the primary study tools is the Bible.  Other books of study include many spiritual or religious texts, psychology, physiology, and even some scientific books.

The thought remains that in order to really delve deeper into spirituality or religion, one must have an open mind in order to even grasp some of the thoughts, thesis, hypothesis, etc., to be able to relate to what another person may be conveying.
