Marla Matime

I wanted to create a space for unconventional discussions to take place around religion and spirituality. I’ve always believed in a higher power, a creator of the Universe, the Earth, and mankind. Studying different religious writings, I’ve always questioned, WHY? Until I’ve learned recently, that the why’s are what makes you WISE. The only way to see the vision clearly, is to gain knowledge from different perspectives.

I’m Marla A. Matime (aka MAR.M) and I am The MetaSpiritualist. Originally from Jacksonville, Arkansas, I’ve enjoyed taking residence in Cincinnati, OH, Atlanta, GA; and now sunny Southern California. I’m a wife and mother of 3 children and I love all things spirituality. I was raised in a home that was seemingly liberal as it pertains to religion, and was not forced to attend church regularly, even consulting psychics, tarot readers, palm readers, etc., from time to time; however, at the tender age of 19, in the spring of 2004, I had an unexplained spiritual experience and was “saved by the blood of Christ,” which further led to me being baptized in the Baptist church. I knew that I was different leading up to this life changing event, but after, my world opened up like never before. For a few years, I was on what Christians call “the straight and narrow,” attending church regularly, involved in different ministries, and focusing solely on the Bible as my source of information from the Holy Spirit. By the time I turned 22, I began learning more about other religious schools of thought, by befriending Muslims and 5 percenters, which led me to learn about Supreme Mathematics and the Supreme Alphabet. I further began attending meditation meetings with Buddhists and Hindu peoples, learning about the breath and how to center and focus myself. When I moved to California in 2009, I became a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and quickly moved up the ranks into church leadership. This created a sense of feeling disdain with the behaviors that I was witnessing around me within the context of religion. I decided to go back into my mind’s eye to reintroduce myself to the basic principles of the things that I’ve learned thus far on my journey as it pertains to all things spiritual.

These events led me down a path of spirituality, understanding that all paths lead to a truth that sets us free. Understanding the basic truths of each religion and spiritual practice that I’ve had the opportunity to learn, has unlocked the potential for me to share a platform for others to come and freely express their spiritual journeys.
